About Us

Emerald Home Furnishings is a whole-home furniture supplier to retailers worldwide.

As a supplier to furniture retailers, we do not sell our products directly to individuals. Please use our Dealer Locator to find a dealer near you that carries Emerald Home furniture.

Our current product lineup includes fabric upholstery, motion furniture, casual and formal dining room furniture, bedroom suites, a complete sleep systems line of gel mattresses, as well as occasional tables and accent chairs.

We have showrooms in Tacoma, WA, Las Vegas, and High Point, NC. Available by appointment only to industry professionals.

Our History

Started in 1962 as B&D Sales by Bond and Doug Shippy, the company distributed bed frames and unfinished furniture. In 1974, George Ritchie (a company representative at that time) purchased the business. The company was incorporated in 1977 and continued to grow, adding a number of additional product lines. Evan Ritchie purchased the company from his father in 1986, starting a whirlwind of growth. In 1990, Evan purchased a mattress factory, Perfect Rest Bedding, and in 1993 he added an import division known as Emerald Home Furnishings. Ownership changed in March of 2002, and David Beckmann led as CEO.

In November of 2019, H.T. Hackney acquired Emerald and added the company to its portfolio of furniture brands, which includes Holland House Furnishings, Davis Direct, Step One, Folio 21, and Crush. Don Montgomery, General Manager, currently leads the Emerald team.

Today, the operation occupies a 200,000 square-foot building in Tacoma that houses the corporate offices, a showroom, and distribution center. Our 200,000 square-foot Mocksville, NC warehouse provides distribution for the Eastern States.

At Emerald Home, we’re committed to family. And family’s not just the folks who might sit around our dinner table—family includes those we work with and live near too. Each year Emerald Home donates time, resources, and furniture to help support local organizations. Because it’s important to share with family.
